5 Things I Love About Staying on Property at Walt Disney World
Share
When you start planning your Walt Disney World holiday, one of the biggest decisions is whether to stay on property or off property.
We’ve done both over the years and each has its pros and cons. But there’s something truly special about being inside the Disney bubble.
This blog post is all about what makes staying on property so magical. Next up I'll look at the pros of staying off-site.
And if you’re just starting to plan your trip my full 170-page Making WDW Magical Guide has all the details about your accommodation options including a breakdown of all the different Disney World resort hotels — truly the only guide you need to plan like a pro from the UK.
My top 5 reasons to stay on property at Disney though.... Read on!
1. Early Park Entry: It Really Makes a Difference
30 minutes doesn't sound like a lot but at Disney World it really is and at Disney... time is money!
Staying at a Disney Resort hotel gives you 30 minutes of early access to any park, every day. That means shorter queues for the biggest rides before the rest of the crowds arrive.
It’s one of the easiest ways to maximise your time and start your park day calm, cool, and ahead of the game.
2. Early Access to Dining Reservations
When you stay on property, you can book dining reservations for the first 10 days of your trip once you hit the 60-day mark.
Guests staying off site have to book one day at a time which means on-site guests often get first pick of those ultra-popular restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table or Oga's Cantina or Beak and Barrel.
If dining experiences are high on your wish list, this perk alone can make a big difference.
3. Booking Lightning Lanes Early
Just like dining, staying on property gives you a head start with Disney’s Multi Pass and Single Pass lightning lane booking.
On-site guests can book Lightning Lanes seven days before their stay begins, while off-site guests can book 3 days out.
That early access means you're far more likely to get not only the rides you want but the times you want to fit into your touring plan/day.
4. Easy (and Magical) Transport
We definitely prefer Disney transport to driving around “The World.” Between the monorail, buses, boats, and Skyliner, getting to and from the parks is simple and part of the fun!
No parking queues, no navigating traffic and road networks, just hop on board and let the magic do the rest.
5. The Bubble
And finally, the bubble.
There’s truly nothing like staying inside the Disney bubble surrounded by theming, music, and atmosphere 24/7.
You can completely switch off from the real world and just totally immerse yourself in 'the Disney World'! It's just magical.
